Iran had one of those “neither free nor fair” elections in which Former Prime Minister Mir Hossein Mousavi and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — or “Wolf vs. Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing,” or “loony leader” vs. “supposed reformer,” depending on how you look at it — bamboozled millions of Iranians into voting for them. Now both sides are claiming victory. Mousavi has the mojo and the hopes of starry-eyed Westerners, while Ahmadinejad has the state-run media, the army, and other intangibles. Voting irregularities are claimed, so this doubtless will end up tied up in the Islamic courts for months. Photo (cc) Shahram Sharif.
