It’s bad enough that our crumbling buildings have left many citizens homeless, but now, dammit, they’re inconveniencing celebrities. Yesterday a downtown Manhattan shoot for Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson, was delayed when a crack in a nearby building wall set off alarms and summoned firefighters. This led to “chaos” as five fire trucks pulled up and NYFD personnel inspected the damage. Pattinson, who had been hit by a cab and stalked by gossip reporters earlier in his New York adventure, is said to have handled it like a trouper and spent the delay “concentrating on his scene,” reports contactmusic. His dedication to craft is an inspiration to us all.
Update: The affected buildings are identified as 273 and 275 Mott Street. 273 Mott was evacuated of its 15 residents and restaurant, who were allowed back in that night.
