If you missed seeing the high-energy Nicholas Leichter Dance rock the Joyce Theater last month, here’s your chance to see them in a very unusual setting. As a part of the River to River Festival, LMCC’s Sitelines presents A Space Funk Invasion, a site-specific dance on the cobblestone streets of the Seaport. Teaming up with the outrageous platform-shoed singer Monstah Black, Leichter has created a work for five dancers in pirate-inspired costumes that is a blend of traditional, contemporary, folk, and popular dance music forms. Music includes a funky mix to shiver your timbers, from Daft Punk to early-’80s Prince band the Time.
