Every summer, the International Fringe Festival inundates NYC theater with a few gems, while the rest of us who aren’t in the know sometimes end up seeing some real duds. The International CringeFest might just have found the formula to remedy that: When every show in the festival is already denoted “bad,” at least there won’t be any surprises. Formerly known as the Bad Musicals Festival, the fest has expanded to include bad plays and films, too. Of course, they’re not actually bad—more, like, naughty. Grouped into categories such as “Is That a Spear in Your Pocket?” and “Go Genital Into That Good Night,” the offerings deal with attacking bimbos, cockroaches, and “Grampa Hitler.” Sounds good to us.
