Over at Pitchfork, your friend and mine Tom Breihan chats with Matthew Lessner, who sired the visually lush, emotionally/thematically somewhat wan “Stillness Is the Move” video, wherein the ladies dance and Dave Longsreth mopes around with a bunch of llamas. Any time you can ask “Were you nervous about working with actual untrained wolves?” you gotta do it, folks. Matthew dutifully dodges any What the Fuck Does This Actually Mean sort of inquiries, beyond agreeing with the descriptor “nomadic.” Given the greatness of the song, this is feeling more and more like a missed opportunity. This shit should’ve been “Pork and Beans” 2009.
