Brooklyn becomes even more animated this weekend when the annual Animation Block Party hits town for the sixth year. A slew of short animated films from around the world, grouped into four programs, will be screening at BAM Saturday and Sunday. Tonight’s opening, though, takes place on the lawn of the Automotive High School in Williamsburg in conjunction with Rooftop Films, creators of the closest thing to a New York City block party we have known in recent years. Tonight’s lineup includes a Clooney-Pitt spoof called Lotions 12; Puffer Girl, a film by Oscar-winner Joan C. Gratz; and FOT: The Next Big Thing, starring Flight of the Conchords‘ Rhys Darby. Teengirl Fantasy provide the live music. At 8, Rooftop Films, Automotive High School, 50 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, $9–$25; Saturday and Sunday at BAMcinématek, 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, 718-636-4100,, $11
