The waterfalling sounds of West African kora music gets an American spin when Gambian griot Foday Musa Suso joins banjo great Tony Trischka and slipstream guitarist Joel Harrison. The mixture isn’t quite as odd as it might appear. Trischka has delved deeply into his instrument’s African roots, while Harrison has studied African drumming on the continent and plays in a variety of Afropop and Afrofolk styles.
