Detroit takes over “beachfront” Long Island City as Andrés celebrates his new release on Kai Alcé’s NDATL label. Atlantan (and Caribbean-raised former New Yorker) Alcé is a celebrated acolyte of the Electrifying Mojo and the Music Institute. Andrés is a regular on Moodyman’s Mahogani imprint, on which he’s just released a seductive full-length; he also handles DJ duties for Slum Village under his Dez moniker. They’re both reliable purveyors of deep soul sets, perfect for a night on the river. With residents Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin and Nublu’s DJ Probus.
