Todd P Documentary Exists, Is Called Todd P Goes to Austin

Todd Patrick, whose reign at the top of New York’s DIY show circuit hasn’t exactly escaped documentation in the eight years since he started putting on concerts in north Brooklyn, has picked up another plaudit for the scrapbook–a documentary film, entitled Todd P Goes To Austin, produced by FVMMO Films, the same bunch responsible for that nudist Matt & Kim video a while back. The trailer uses the Crass font prominently and seems to have an encouragingly high ratio of verite live footage to couch-based pontification about punk rock and “culture.” Todd P stalwarts Best Fwends, Ponytail, Team Robespierre, High Places, Juiceboxxx, Dan Deacon, Mika Miko, the Death Set, and Matt & Kim all make cameos; Japanther does the music. The flick premieres next Tuesday at The Delancey, where Patrick will also DJ, in between sets by the So So Glos and Team Robespierre, plus special guests, some of whom you could probably guess without trying very hard. The Manhattan debut is perhaps incongruous, but Colt 45 (along with the music mag Death + Taxes) is a sponsor, so it’s not like people will be sober or well behaved or anything. [h/t nyctaper]
