YO, JOE!

by

In ninth grade, there were certain boys in my class who were taunted for acting like “babies” when it got out that they were still going home after school to play with their G.I. Joes. Had they only known that one day a thing called the G.I. Joe Stop-Motion Film Festival would feature hilarious movies starring only G.I. Joe action figures, that the movies would be made by cool, artistic adults—not babies—and that everyone who saw them would agree that playing with G.I. Joes is actually really awesome, then perhaps they would have had some ammunition to battle the mean boys of Standley Junior High. Films showing tonight include re-creations of iconic scenes from Indiana Jones and an homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing, as well as original works such as a dance-off between G.I. Joe and the villainous terrorist Cobra. Your inner child will love it.
