By now, this mopey Brit institution is the musical equivalent of a high-budget summer action film: They’re critic-proof, no matter how good or bad they may be. As it turns out, their new record is kinda soggy—high on drama as always, but pretty low on tunes. Still, they’ve got living legend status and have a good catalog to fall back on, plus the gothy crowd they attract is in itself worth seeing (or at least gawking at outside). With Peter Bjorn & John.
