Now at the Doughnut Plant: Better Living Through Fresh Fruit


The Feed brings word that Mark Israel, owner of the Doughnut Plant, has introduced real fruit into his fruit-flavored cake doughnuts. The doughnuts previously had a vanilla base filled with fruity glaze, so for doughnut fanatics, this is a little like finding Coke sweetened with real sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Israel, who’s known for taking years to perfect his recipes, recently rolled out blueberry, carrot cake, and banana pecan doughnuts.
