The Pool Parties aren’t being held in the drained McCarren Park Pool anymore, but don’t fret: There’s still great free music, the sublime vision of awkward scenesters playing dodgeball, and now, at a new home on the Williamsburg riverfront, an image of Manhattan that looks straight out of a tourist brochure. This week showcases the triple threat of Deerhunter, No Age, and Dan Deacon. Deacon’s Alvin & the Chipmunks schtick is kind of tired, but the guy always gets the crowd riled up. No Age play their asses off, like the instruments could fall apart at any moment. Deerhunter, though, are a little more complex; their cerebral melodies are matched only by the straight-up weirdness of frontman Bradford Cox.
