While it’s not all bad news for fish lovers these days, navigating your local fish market can still feel like walking through a minefield of over-harvested, unsustainable choices. And, in case you need another reason to avoid fish sourced from the festering petri dishes that many a fish farm appear to be, TreeHugger has uncovered research suggesting that people may be able to contract Creutzfeldt-Jakob — a human version of mad cow disease — from farmed fish fed mad cow-diseased animals parts. Yikes!
