Brooklyn, baby—specifically, to the borough’s very own John Patitucci, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ 1986 MVP and a two-time Grammy winner (one for performance, one for composition). The post-bop and Brazilian jazz guru can swing it acoustic, double, and electric and flourishes that versatility with quirky, fleeting grace. His trio tonight with tumblers Joe Lovano and Brian Blade might just make you Dizzy in more ways than one.
