Fabolous Is Number One

Fabolous, the Brooklyn rapper whose Loso’s Way came in for a so-so review in last week’s Voice and whose 2009 career we have been rooting for, basically, is the number one seller in the country this week. Fab sold 99,000 records in his first week out, good enough to beat both Daughtry and Maxwell. It’s his worst debut out of five tries, numberwise, ever, and also his highest chart position to date–a common paradox in the waning days of the record industry. Now he can go back to murdering 16s on other people’s songs in peace. [SOHH]
