With 30 years under their belt as the kings and queens of kitsch, don’t worry about the B-52s being too cool to play the hits. Their recent shows have visited just about all of the big ones, outside of playing that song from the Flintstones movie. Latest album, Funplex, is basically the same rowdy chant-and-squeal with some electronic doodles for good measure. If there was a better band to play on a sandy, man-made “beach” on Governor’s Island, we haven’t heard of them.
