Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore is indie rock’s Highlander. Want proof? He never ages, has survived decades in the New York underground, and, given the chance, would probably slice through David Geffen with a powerful sword. Replace “sword” with “über-heavy guitar riffage” and you’ve got some understanding of the powerful sound to be produced at tonight’s showcase. Playing in Northampton Woods with experimentalist Bill Nace, the duo creates combustible noise assaults that aren’t afraid to box your ears. Watch them call to the wild tonight as the crowd grows appropriately hushed. With Carlos Giffoni.
