(Alfred Hitchcock, 1955).
Cary Grant is a retired cat burglar living on the Riviera who gets involved with elegant Texas tourist Grace Kelly in this rambling lightweight romantic comedy thriller. The complex opening sequence, vintage Hitchcock, is brilliant. On the whole, the picture is escapist travel folder heaven, a showcase of beautiful people and luscious scenery. The fine French supporting cast includes veteran Charles Vanel and the celebrated lesbian cabaret hostess, Georgette Anys.
