You don’t find many identical twins dropping discs at the same time, so even if the music weren’t as hip as it is, there’d still be reason to give this affair a look-see. Sax-wielding Marcus and drumming brother EJ are doers, and they’ve managed to get NYC jazz zealots to turn their heads in the last few years. The tenor player’s rough ‘n’ tumble trio record is gutsy, but he makes nice with Björk and Stevie Wonder tunes. The percussionist, E.J., is ambitious and has corralled a hot-shit team to help him get eloquent. Yes, both sibs play on each other’s albums. Viva la family!
