Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Tracklist Looks Like Mad Libs

The Blueprint 3 tracklist is out, and the stats are in: four solo Jay songs, at least one of which is nearly guaranteed to be Jay going not so hard (unless “Venus vs. Mars” is about something entirely different than we think it is), and another one of which is “D.O.A.” There is indeed a song called “Empire State of Mind,” but unlike on the fake tracklist that circulated a few weeks ago, Nas is not featured on it. His replacement? Alicia Keys. Kid Cudi, Drake, and J. Cole all catch cameos. So does Mr. Hudson. The last time a Jay-Z tracklisting was anywhere near this riddled with strangers was on The Dynasty. We’d say more but Noz pretty much already said it all. The bad news, in full:

    • 1. “What We Talkin’ About” (feat. Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun)

    • 2. “Thank You”

    • 3. “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)”

    • 4. “Run This Town” (feat. Rihanna and Kanye West)

    • 5. “Empire State of Mind” (feat. Alicia Keys)

    • 6. “As It Gets” (feat. Young Jeezy)

    • 7. “One” (feat. Swizz Beatz)

    • 8. “Off That” (feat. Drake)

    • 9. “A Star Is Born” (feat. J. Cole)

    • 10. “Venus vs. Mars”

    • 11. “Already Home” (feat. Kid Cudi)

    • 12. “Hate” (feat. Kanye West)

    • 13. “Reminder”

    • 14. “So Ambitious” (feat. Pharrell)

    15. “Young Forever” (feat. Mr. Hudson)

Wikipedia has some version of the production credits–as previously surmised, it’s mostly Kanye and No I.D.. We’ll see.
