Of all his films, Tim Burton has often said that Edward Scissorhands is the one closest to his heart. Burton drew on his own childhood experience of feeling like an outsider in the sunny Southern California suburb of Burbank to create the story of Edward, the kind-hearted creation of an eccentric scientist, who is taken in by a family in the suburbs. Tonight, see this 1990 classic, which stars Johnny Depp as Edward and Winona Ryder as his love interest, Kim, outdoors on the lawn of Brooklyn Bridge Park, the final installment of the “Movies With a View” series. The evening opens with a DJ set from Oneman and Imani Dean’s short film I Am Not Obsessed, about a rabid Harry Potter fan.
