Free Ferry Rides to U.S. Open Can Also Take You to View Mets’ Collapse

How about a free boat ride to Mets games over the next two weeks? Yes, New York Water Taxi says they’re for the U.S. Open in Flushing, but if you don’t mind a bit of a walk that’s still a free boat (and bus!) ride to the near vicinity of Citi Field, and it only takes 35 minutes. Then, for their next home stand versus the Cubs on September 4-6, you can ride in comfort to watch what’s left of the Mets (now minus Oliver Perez, who’s out for the year with knee trouble) cruise into last place. So at least something about the experience will be pleasant! The boats will also be serving free Powerade.
