Musicians, you should already know this, but: Never fall asleep on the subway with your instruments. A young player got on the N at 57th Street around 3:30 on Thursday morning. He dozed and, as the train pulled into the Ditmars Boulevard stop, he noticed that his black leather Reunion Blues triple trumpet case — containing his Inderbinen flugelhorn and Bach Stradivarius trumpet (pictured) — was missing. Prices vary but the instruments are worth at least two or three grand apiece. If someone tries to sell you these items on the street, or if you have any other information as to these instruments or this incident, NYPD asks you to contact 1-800-577-TIPS(8477), www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
