The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function is a very cool non-profit that does groundbreaking research in using “music therapy” to stimulate brain function in patients suffering from strokes or trauma. No word on how Kid Rock—someone whose music is proudly brainless, and whose American Badass Beer will probably do plenty to kill America’s brain cells—is playing their benefit. But, hell, thank the dude for coming down and playing the most intimate venue he’s probably rocked in a solid decade—a rare treat from someone who knows how to put on a real, frills-and-all rock show.
