Seafaring Cafe Coming to the East Village


EV Grieve has an extensive report on a new cafe that will be opening in the former Pearl Theatre Company concession area at St. Marks’ Theatre 80. The Pearl’s Lorcan Otway is planning to open the William Barnacle Scott, a nautically themed cafe named after a longtime neighborhood habitue. The cafe will initially serve theatergoers but will eventually open to the public, and — in a novel twist for an East Village establishment that plans to serve beer and wine — will close nightly at 6 p.m.
