The long-awaited Stumptown has finally opened in the Ace Hotel. It’s the only New York outpost of the Portland coffee chain, although you can get Stumptown coffee at a number of restaurants and cafes, including Cafe Pedlar (both in Brooklyn and now in the LES).
Cantina Latina is opening in the East Village with 100 seats and a Mexican- and Cuban-inspired menu, including tacos and a take on the Cuban sandwich. A selection of tequilas, mescals, and rums are on the drinks list, along with mojitos, margaritas, and sangria.
Meanwhile, another south-of-the-border-themed spot has opened on the LES. Los Feliz is billing itself as a taqueria and a tequileria, featuring high-end tequila cocktails and bites like tacos and ceviches by chef Julieta Ballesteros of Crema.
The space formerly occupied by Cafe Dore on Smith Street is now Sue Perette, which is serving up wild boar sausage and beluga lentil salads, as well as duck two ways and Berkshire pork shank.
