Fort Defiance Battles the DOH

According to the Fort Defiance website, the Red Hook bar and restaurant has been shuttered by the Department of Health thanks to “nonfunctional gas cooking equipment in the kitchen.” Apparently, a restaurant with gas equipment but no gas service is a DOH no-no. Fortunately, St. John Frizell, Fort Defiance’s fearless commander, plans to have the restaurant open for business by next week — with, best of all, a “bigger and better” menu serving “eggs in the morning, entrees and dessert at night, and more.”
