Michael Psilakis is out at Mia Dona as both the executive chef and partner. According to the press release:
“Given the economy and new projects that have arisen for us both, Donatella and I have decided it would be best for her to take full ownership of Mia Dona,” says Michael Psilakis. “The restaurant is truly an extension of Donatella in both cuisine and
design and it feels right for her to have complete control of the operation and menu going forward. I have several projects in the works that I will be focusing on in the near future.”
Psilakis will continue to act as the executive chef and partner at Anthos, his other collaboration with Arpaia. His departure from Mia Dona does not come as a huge surprise: The restaurant, which opened in February 2008, was always Arpaia’s baby (as its name would suggest), and Psilakis has in recent months had his hands full with the opening of Gus & Gabriel, as well as Kefi and his new cookbook, which is due to come out in October or November.
