Sometimes things land on my desk that bear very little resemblance to something you should put in your mouth. D-Mix (as in, “Get in D-Mix!”) is an energy and “nutritional” formula that claims to deliver a bunch of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants along with caffeine and guarana seed complex to make you feel peppy. It comes in mint, punch and coffee flavors, and you deliver this unholy concoction to your mouth from a bullet-shaped spray bottle. It’s billed as the “world’s first liquid energy pump.” So wicked awesome, right?
Just a sniff of the coffee spray bottle was enough to make me gag, so I tried one pump of the punch flavor, which tastes like Robitussin sweetened with aspartame. Does anyone else find these sorts of products distressingly stupid? Why would anyone want to ingest this stuff? Want energy and anti-oxidants? Have a cup of coffee and some blueberries.
