Two of South London’s dubstep godfathers help the local bass-burners celebrate an anniversary. Benga solidified the Croydon underground in its early days with collaborators Coki and Tempa; last year, his Diary of an Afro Warrior reminded us just how far dubstep has come and can go still. Skream used to work at Hatcha’s Big Apple Records, then a slithery melody and wobbly bass helped make his “Midnight Request Line” a recent classic. With Drop the Lime, AC Slater, Star Eyes, and the Captain.
