Has anyone else noticed how ugly the cover of this month’s Bon Appetit is? It features a homely short rib (sharp focus on the clumpy sauce somehow clinging to the meat), sticking up at an unlikely angle.
Usually, both Bon Appetit and Gourmet‘s food styling is beautiful, but maybe McKinsey, the consulting firm Conde Nast hired to balance budgets, is cracking down on photo shoots. Still, we honestly can’t imagine how this one even got out of the door. Some of the interior shots are pretty bad, too. Like this one. What is that?
