Barbecue for Bushwick


BushwickBK brings news of the opening of the Hibachi Tiki Hut, a restaurant serving “wood-fired barbecue cuisine” near Broadway and Myrtle Avenue. The menu includes organic cheese burger and wild curry swordfish steak; steak cuts are selected by Fresh Direct’s David Weber, who has butchered and graded meat for Peter Luger. The decor is what you might expect: tiki statues, bamboo walls, and lots of thatch. Something of a departure, in other words, from the neighborhood’s slice joints and bullet-proof Chinese takeout windows.
