The WFMU Fest serves up a history lesson. Original drummer Werner “Zappi” Diermaier and bassist Jean-Herve Peron are joined by former Bad Seed James Johnston, among others, 38(!) years after the krautrocking brutalists first hoisted their art-as-error banner aloft. The Factory Records aesthetic persists in Cold Cave’s chilly synth-pop, while occult-inclined French trio Aluk Todolo will draw you a jagged psych-metal tetragrammaton you can’t refuse.
