You probably heard of the gruesome case of LaRhonda McCall, the Oklahoma who was recently charged with keeping her teenage son locked in a closet more or less continually for four years, and also of beating and burning him. McCall, it turns out, used to live in The Bronx, where she was convicted of starving her 2-year-old to death. Known then as LaRhonda Pressley, she was convicted of second-degree manslaughter and spent six months in jail and five months on probation. McCall and her companion, Steve Hamilton, are charged with child abuse and child neglect in the current case.
