Forces of decency got the Richard Prince photo-of-a-photo of nude, 10-year-old Brooke Shields pulled from the Tate Gallery show at which it was to appear. London police came by and strongly suggested the management remove it, and they did. And we always heard they were more advanced over there! The picture was shown without incident at the Guggenheim in 2007. Maybe the Roman Polanski thing brought added heat on the photo. Who knows — but any museums that are displaying Balthus had better get out the barbed wire.
