Tonight! Heavy Trash, Om, and Clem Snide Vie For Your Love

Heavy Trash, the garage-rockabilly duo of Matt Verta-Ray and the one, the only Jon Spencer, celebrate the release of their third record, Midnight Soul Serenade, at Bowery Electric tonight. As Verta-Ray explains in this weeks’ Voice, “Generally, rock ‘n’ roll guys are insecure and don’t put on a lot of luster. Rarely do they say, ‘I love you’ and ‘I’m here for you.’ Jon and I have been around a long time, and we have those feelings. We wanted that to be represented.” So sensitive.

Stoner-metal titans Om hit Bowery Ballroom with Six Organs of Admittance and Lichens. They probably won’t tell you they love you.

On-again, off-again Nashville alt-country dudes Clem Snide are profoundly well named, but frontman Eef Barzelay’s nasal cleverness is profoundly affecting in small doses. The Mercury Lounge oughta be small enough.

Last call for Built to Spill at Webster Hall and Kylie Minogue at Hammerstein Ballroom. The latter is free if you wear pajamas.
