This past July, books gave way to bods as the Astor Place Barnes & Noble turned into a David Barton gym.
And what a place! Described as a “40,000 square foot, four-story mega gym,” the space “has been transformed by Barton to be a total embodiment of the personality and history of its neighborhood, with every detail representing the purest in East Village culture.
“At DavidBartonGym Astor Place, colors, textures, sound, sweat and science collide, forever changing the face of lifestyle in New York and nationwide.”
Does that make you want to leap to Astor Place and do some butt crunches? Or will you stay on the couch, doing arm lifts to your mouth with piles of fudge?
