Suspicious Fire in Queens Claims Sexual Harassment Plaintiff

An early-morning Sunday blaze at the Pomonok Houses in Kew Gardens Hills required the attention of over a hundred firefighters and claimed the life of Bianca Kuros, 44, who had been involved in a sexual harassment suit against JPMorgan Chase and Total Safety Consulting, and in whose apartment the fire is believed to have originated. Kuros’ daughter, a 52-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were listed in critical condition. Fire authorities called the fire suspicious and are investigating. The 911 call to which firefighters responded directed them to the wrong building; nonetheless FDNY says they were able to get to the victims within eight minutes of the alarm.
