Call them modern-day Victorian gypsies, vaudevillian circus performers, or a Robin Hood crew fighting for your rights—but however you choose to describe the Citizens Band, the one thing you definitely can’t call them is boring. The dazzling rock-and-roll cabaret, which informs us on the current political state but—above all else—entertains us, was founded by Jack White’s supermodel wife, Karen Elson, among others. Their latest show, and the first since the Obama administration took office, is called The Debt Rattle. Set in a Depression-era marathon dance hall, the performance promises classic and original songs, -from jug band to agitprop to swing, with a starry cast including Elson, Nina Persson (the Cardigans), Zoe Kravitz (daughter of Lenny), Rain Phoenix, and special guest performer Justin Bond
