Soho Stand-by Zoe Is Closing

Diner’s Journal is reporting that Zoe, the “contemporary American” restaurant that’s been on Prince Street since 1992, will close by the end of the week. One of its owners, Stephen Loffredo, cited the usual suspects — a changing neighborhood and a lease that was coming to an end — as reasons for the restaurant’s closure. Back in 2004, none other than Sam Sifton bemoaned the “once rollicking” establishment’s lackluster food and service, suggesting that the bloom had fallen off the rose long before the plant’s actual death this week.
