Low Turnout Means Plenty of Swine Flu Vaccine, Weekend Clinics


When everyone was worried about swine flu vaccine shortages, the city concentrated on getting schoolchildren immunized and discouraged “healthy, non-elderly adults” from getting shots. But at the last weekend clinics, the Times reported unexpectedly low turnout. Now the city, awash in vaccine, is expanding its weekend clinics, and inviting pretty much everyone from age 4 to 64 — including pregnant women — to come and get it.
