Tailor may be closed for good, but Sam Mason is open to the idea of a new restaurant, possibly in Brooklyn. In an interview with the Times about his role as the host of IFC’s Dinner With the Band, Mason, who lives in Williamsburg, briefly discussed his tentative plans to open a restaurant in the borough.
“Maybe it’ll be a place with a stage, where bands can play…That could be genius,” he said. And Mason put a definitive kabosh on any lingering rumors that Tailor might reopen, adding that “overzealousness,” manifested in both the restaurant’s army of waiters and high rent, was the cause of its closure.
