Ever wonder what the editrix of the now defunct Gourmet has in her icebox? Salon’s Francis Lam asked his old boss to open her refrigerator door for all to see what dwells therein.

The reveal starts off sultry, like you’d imagine: heirloom apples called Arkansas blacks and Knobbed Russets, as well as “cranberries, lemons, limes, clementines, avocados… lacinato kale, sage, scallions, celery… two kinds of miso, three kinds of butter, Sriracha.” Then, there’s the mention of Durkee dressing. Other items that may surprise you include hot dogs and buns, cans of Campbell’s tomato soup, and Old El Paso salsa.
