At the first-ever Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival, you won’t likely find many Trekkies or geeks dressed like superheroes. Instead, this crowd will look more like they came as hip characters from an Adrian Tomine cartoon. At Our Lady of Consolation Church, more than 50 exhibitors—including Tunde Adebimpe, top graphic-book publisher Drawn & Quarterly, French screenprint publisher Le Dernier Cri, and Italian art-book publisher Corraini—will be selling their zines, comics, books, and posters. Special guests, including Kim Deitch, R.O. Blechman, Ben Katchor, and Gary Panter, will participate in panel discussions and events taking place at Secret Project Robot (128 River Street). And the dorking out continues at an after-party at Death by Audio (49 South 2nd Street), with music from comic-book and zine artists.
