Up around Harlem, there’s a daunting haven for overachievers known as the Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard Exchange Program: it allows students to earn a B.A. from Barnard or Columbia and a master’s from Juilliard in a mere five years. These talented, insomniac musicians show their prodigal chops annually at the Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard Fall Recital, and this year’s 13 candidates will tackle Beethoven (“Piano Trio in D major”), Mendelssohn (first movement of “Octet in E-flat major”), and more. Gratulationes, Ivies.
