Justine Pringle and Andy Laird’s chocolate shop, Nunu, is known for its innovative cocoa creations — especially the to-kill-for sea-salt caramels. This past weekend, the couple launched the wine bar portion of the Atlantic Avenue storefront.
A selection of wines by the glass is being served, priced $7-14. The list is mostly made up of New World offerings, including selections from South Africa, where Pringle grew up. They’re also serving hot chocolate and espresso drinks, as well as three beers on tap: Captain Lawrence’s Captain’s Reserve (a double IPA), Allagash (a Belgian white), and Chelsea Brewing Company’s Black Hole XXX Stout.
Featured wine-and-chocolate pairings are planned, as is a longer bottle list. Beer pairings are another possibility, according to Laird, seeing as they already do beer truffles. Look for a new Black Hole XXX Stout truffle soon.
