Given the current economy, it’s hard to imagine young artists continuing to fork over thousands to overpriced MFA programs. Perhaps they can take a tip from the rebels of art collective the Bruce High Quality Foundation and start their own university instead. Opened in September in a building in Tribeca, the Bruce High Quality Foundation University, presented by the nonprofit public art group Creative Time, has offered free classes to students on such topics as “Occult Shenanigans in 20th/21st-Century Art,” “What’s a Metaphor?,” “The B.H.Q.F.U. Detective Agency,” and “Edifying.” Now you can see what all this free-thinking has done for their art at this group show at the Susan Inglett Gallery.
