Gatorade has turned off the tap on Tiger Focus, its Tiger Woods energy drink. The brand says that the decision has nothing to do with the golfer’s myriad dalliances, and that it made the decision before news of his Thanksgiving car accident broke.
Crain’s reports that the news first broke in a trade publication, Beverage Digest, on November 25. The beverage promised consumers that it would help them “to be as mentally tough as they are physically,” a claim that would now seem to carry a bit less weight. Oh well. At least there’s still Drank.
