Edible Pursuit
Sheep Station
December 14

How well do you know food? Can you say where the first pizza in New York was sold or what popular and flavorful cut of meat is connected to the liver? If so, join Edible Brooklyn for this food-centric trivia night in Park Slope. The editors have compiled the questions, and winners will receive bottles of wine and beer, cookbooks, restaurant gift certificates, and other goodies. It’s $15 to play, which includes a beer, so reserve your spot now.

Bar Blanc Bistro 2nd Anniversary
Bar Blanc Bistro
December 16

Any restaurant that manages to stay open a year these days can consider itself lucky. Bar Blanc Bistro is then doubly fortunate, as it prepares to celebrate its two-year anniversary. The restaurant will start by extending its Happy Hour until closing time, which means 50 percent off all wines by the glass and draft beers until midnight. Executive chef Sebastiaan Zijp will also send out complimentary bar snacks from 8-10 p.m. for an extra happy birthday.

Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah Tasting
December 17

If you haven’t tasted Shmaltz Brewing Company’s handcrafted kosher HE’BREW beers yet, now may be the time. Not only is it Hanukkah, but HE’BREW Beer turns 13 this year. Can a beer have a Bar Mitzvah? Perhaps not, but the brewery is still celebrating with its Jewbelation Bar Mitzvah limited edition brew. Shmaltz proprietor Jeremy Cowan and the HE’BREW team will be in attendance to offer tasting insights and generally yuk it up.
